Scar Revision/Correction is indicated for cosmetic or functional aspects.

Scar revision is surgery to improve or reduce the appearance of scars. It also restores function and corrects skin changes (disfigurement) caused by an injury, wound, poor healing, or previous surgery.

Scar tissue forms as skin heal after an injury such as accident or surgery.

Depending on the extent of the surgery, scar revision can be done under local or general anesthesia Scar revision does is not always clear the scar. Scars shrink and become less visible as they age. Scar revision is done after several months or even a year after the wound has healed. While in some scars, it is fair to do revise surgery 2-3 months after the scar matures or do laser treatment. Every scar is different; hence an expert dermatologist opinion is required.

There are various techniques such as:

 Elliptical excision,

Serial partial excision,

Z plasty,

W plasty,

V-Y plasty are used for different scars.

Ear hole/lobe repair

Many of us suffer from problems due to big ear lobes (elongated ear lobes) and unable to wear proper ear-rings. Due to this big ear hole, some lose their costly ear studs.

This is a traditional, out-patient procedure and is carried out under local anesthetic agent. The torn edges of the skin are excised and the fresh edges are stitched together with sutures. The sutures need to remove after one or two weeks depending on the clinical situation.

We at Clear Skin Centre successfully practicing advance ear hole repair treatment ‘Auroplasty’ with 100% closing in one sitting with new hole piercing, unlike traditional procedure where the new piercing is done after 2 to 3 months. It is a safe, permanent, and reliable procedure without stitches. Here the edges of the skin are relieved using a laser or radio-surgery unit and approximated using a fixative solution.

Skin Allergy Testing

Skin allergies could be caused by a wide variety of substances (anything under the sun including the sun). Pinpointing the causative agent is very necessary for the proper management of these allergies which causes a great amount of distress to the sufferer. Patch testing is a very useful non-invasive test, which could help in identifying the cause.
